A strong employment contract in the native language is required in Estonia, which details the terms of employees compensation, benefits and termination requirements. The salary and any compensation must always be stated in Euros and cannot be stated in another foreign currency.
The working hours in Estonia are 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, but businesses usually close earlier on Fridays.
Most Estonians receive 28 days of paid vacation which includes both working and non-working days.
Employees are allowed up to 182 sick days of leave. Employers are responsible for paying the sick leave from the fourth to the ninth day and from the ninth day onwards the state is required to pay. The employee is entitled to 70% of their last years average salary.
