Role description and responsibilities

We're looking for a dynamic Senior General Accountant for Paris office. To support business growth and expansion, it is important for Algolia to reinforce the Finance team to build up a strong financial basis.       • Perform monthly reconciliations (bank; P&L and balance sheet)
      • Ensure reconciliation documentation is clear and up to date
      • Manage monthly closing and improving monthly closing process
      • Participate in improving internal processes
      • Review and analysis of payroll
      • Manage bridge analysis between US GAAP and French GAAP for statutory compliance
      • Work closely with our consolidation team and FP&A team on tracking purchasing and spend against budgets
      • Follow up on tax subjects
      • Follow up on assets
      • Perform AR related tasks: billing and customer support
      • Perform ad-hoc tasks as necessary.


      • Degree in Accounting, Finance
      • 7 years minimum of experience in General Accounting in French GAAP
      • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures (closing process)
      • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages (ERP)
      • Preferred experience in an accounting firm
      • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
      • Strong analysis capabilities
      • Autonomy, Proactivity, Ability to work in a scalable environment
      • Good learning capacity, strong adaptability
      • Enthusiasm, perseverance, attentiveness to details, teamwork
      • French: fluent
      • English: professional proficiency


      • Experience in a small accounting team
      • Experience with Netsuite
      • Experience in an international environment
      • US GAAP knowledge
      • Willing to grow in a start-up environment
