Meet Barbara, Our Adventurous Content Creator

Do you know the saying “When, if not now“?

Our Native Teams’ content creator Barbara truly lives by this quote. She loves to live her life out of her comfort zone and is not afraid of trying new things! She’s lived in many places around the globe and does not plan to settle down anytime soon.

She enjoys discovering all the hidden places of our beautiful planet, creating content across many channels, and is in love with pretty much any sport you can think of.

So why don’t you meet her?

Who is Barbara?

I’m Barbara Borko, a curious and adventurous soul from Slovenia. I absolutely love travelling, adrenaline sports, meeting new people and creating content for Native Teams as well as for my adventure travel blog.

I’ve studied, lived and worked in 5 different countries around the globe and each of them gave me a new unique perspective on life and of the world.

What is your role at Native Teams?

I live and breathe content – I’m a content creator/digital marketing manager and I love it!

What do your daily tasks include?

Writing blog posts, newsletters, planning and managing content across social media channels and social media groups, creating copy for our website pages and email sequences… And it doesn’t stop here!

What excites you about content creation?

It’s super creative and it forces me to dig into my brain. It’s almost never the same, you have to keep on learning and discovering new things. At one point in my life, I wanted to be a journalist because I always loved writing and was curious about the world around me, and I feel those can be well applied within content creation as well.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

There’s quite a few actually! Getting my master degree from a Swedish university is definitely one of them, packing up my “comfortable” life and moving across the globe to backpack around New Zealand is another one and scoring this cool job is definitely one of them too!

What is the best thing about working remotely?

It gives me the wings to fly and much-needed freedom across the board. It allows me to create my own schedule, work from different corners of the world and it doesn’t force me to sit behind the same desk in the same office, surrounded by the same people 5 days a week.

And the not-so-glamorous part?

If you’re an extrovert (like myself), working remotely can get quite lonely and you can easily start missing other human beings. When this happens it is very important to draw a line between work and personal life, find hobbies that make you happy and get away from all the screens once you’re finished with your working day.

What do you like the most about working for Native Teams?

I really like what I do and I love, love, love the team! Everyone is super friendly, helpful and easy to work with. I love that we come from many different countries, share different cultures and customs and that everyone gets along super well. And, we have a really awesome manager which definitely contributes to everyone’s happiness. I just wish we’d see each other in person more often!

What’s on your bucket list?

Oh my, so many things! In the very near future, I’d love to visit Iceland and Canada. I’d love to go skydiving, get my yoga certificate in India, go hiking in Nepal and work on my rock climbing skills. Meanwhile, I’d also love to grow my blog and share my experience with like-minded people! Can we please have more than 24 hours in a day?!
