Hi Mia! We’re so excited to finally get to know you a bit better! How are you today?

Very good actually, because I’m at the office with most of my colleagues from my country, Serbia!

What is your role at Native Teams?

As a marketing manager at Native Teams, I work with the most talented and creative group of people. It’s my responsibility to manage all social media platforms with my colleague Barbara and make sure we’re updated and unique. Additionally, to create copies and organise engaging events and campaigns.

What do your daily tasks include?

My daily tasks include checking the calendar and seeing what we have in the plan, then chatting with the designers if they need any help with creating the social media posts. I check all the other responsibilities when it comes to the countries I’m responsible for with the rest of my coworkers. When I have extra time, I always try to find inspiration and try to suggest new ideas, prepare copies for the month, assign all tasks on time, etc.

What is your educational/professional background? How did you get into digital marketing?

I have a degree in communicology with a focus in digital marketing, so my educational background is really in that area. What makes me the happiest is that I am now working in a profession that I both enjoy and have studied.

When I first started my career, I did a lot of other things, such as work as a creative director at a five-star hotel and as a retoucher at an agency which had offices in New York, Belgrade and Oslo. These other jobs really benefited me when it came to having insights and knowledge into all the parts that make digital marketing.

What makes Native Teams so unique?

I’ve never worked in a company in which you may never meet your coworkers because none of my prior jobs were remote. My prior 9–5 jobs were so draining on my energies that I never had time to take care of myself. The other thing about Native Teams is that our team is very young, which is something you can really sense and appreciate seeing. This gives young individuals a chance to showcase their abilities at an early age.

In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of working remotely?

Do I even have to say? Travel, work from a beach, or mountain,  have time for yourself, develop hobbies, don’t lose too much time commuting to your workplace, etc.

The only thing which I’m not really happy about is not being able to meet all of my colleagues or spend time with them.

What are your goals for 2023? Either professional or personal goals… Or both! 🙂

My goals are to work from as many countries as I can and meet more of my colleagues and other people! Also, try to develop new skills and try to find as much motivation as possible.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I love to be as active as I can during the day when I’m not at home and it’s not winter, but when it’s freezing and gloomy outside, I prefer to be active at night.

What makes you the happiest?

Travelling for sure, food, music and rakija! And not to forget most important, my family and friends.

If you were a type of weather, what would you be and why?

Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I love colourful nature and the weather is just at the perfect temperature and it’s the best time to travel!

Your go-to song (or playlist) to get hyped!

Any 2000’s song (some Kylie Minogue banger always hits the right spot), I get really nostalgic and it reminds of the days when I had a lot more energy so I get hyped. 😀

If you could only speak one language for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I am fluent in three languages, but I have to admit that Serbian is my favourite since it has the most swearwords, which allows you to truly let you to steam off when you need to. I’m kidding!!!

What would you recommend to anyone who wants to get into digital marketing or content creation?

To avoid becoming burnt out, keep yourself updated and take breaks from your phone and social media. Never turn down new possibilities for learning or jobs; try everything and choose what suits you best.

Anything else you want to add for our readers?

Stay healthy, party, travel and drink rakija!
