How Hypefy Scaled From 1 to 28 Countries With Native Teams

Hypefy was growing very fast - new, more complex campaigns, big global clients, and hundreds of contractors on their team. But behind the scenes, their setup was a bit messy. In this article, Nicholas Ghitti, Native Teams’ Chief Revenue Officer, shares his story on how Native Teams helped Hypefy sort out payments, contracts, and compliance, scale from one to 28 countries, and cut their admin time by 300% in the process. Stay tuned for the details!

When I first came across Hypefy, my initial impression was that it was no ordinary startup. They had the team, the ambition, a strong product, and the clients to prove it - big names across retail, cosmetics, food, and electronics. But underneath all this progress, their operational infrastructure was nowhere near ready to support it all.

Hypefy is an AI-powered influencer marketing platform that enables brands to run end-to-end campaigns, including outreach, content creation, and reporting. They were growing fast, working with over 500 gig workers and taking on more complex campaigns. On top of that, they were expanding into new markets, which made everything even more challenging behind the scenes. Every new market imposed new laws, new payment flows, and new compliance risks.

In short, they were dealing with one of the most common and painful problems of fast-growing startups - their ops setup couldn’t carry the weight of where they were headed. What they needed was a proper system - something stable, proven, and ready to grow with them. And that’s exactly when we knew we could be a real partner in their growth.

Behind the scenes before Native Teams

Hypefy’s operational setup had all the classic stress points we’ve seen before that were slowing everything down when they needed to skyrocket growth.

Every new contractor onboard meant drafting and sending another contract, chasing another signature, and storing important files somewhere. They also used PayPal for some payments, which was a risky move that could put them in grey areas in some countries.

Cross-border contractor payments are often one of the most misunderstood areas for startups entering new markets. Regulations change very fast, and even well-funded teams can easily fall into grey zones. Hypefy knew that they couldn’t afford to make that mistake.

We caught up with Filip Špiranec, the Co-Founder of Hypefy, and he said:

“At times, we weren’t even sure how to handle our team’s payments properly. Getting freelancer payments done in a legally clean way was one of the greatest challenges we faced so far”.

On top of everything else, their team was stuck doing all the admin work by hand. Instead of putting their focus on more critical ops, like campaigns, they were clearly bogged down in fixing payment mistakes and hunting down contracts.

How Native Teams made it work

“We never seriously considered other platforms because Native Teams met all of our needs from day one”. That’s how Filip summed it up.

Hypefy was searching for a solution that could grow with them. Something scalable, sustainable, legally compliant, and cost-efficient to manage their expanding network of gig workers. At the core of their operations, what they really needed was fast and reliable payment processing, automated legal compliance, centralised contract management, and a way to keep their team happy.

Native Teams delivered all of this through the Gig Pay module - a global work payment solution with automated, built-in compliance.

The process started by unifying multi-currency payments and allowing for automated bulk payouts. For Hypefy, this meant eliminating different payment methods or manually managing each transaction with their contractors. At the same time, their team got a single place where they could get paid for their work instantly and track their earnings in real time.

On the compliance side, Gig Pay enabled Hypefy to create, sign, and update digital contracts that are securely stored on the platform. And everything in full alignment with each worker’s local labour laws and requirements.

The impact was beyond significant. Streamlining all of these operations with Gig Pay resulted in reducing the need for finance headcount down to just one expert managing payments and compliance. With fewer people tied up and one platform for everything, Hypefy were able to expand into 28 new markets without all the chaos that could have slowed them down in the background.

The outcome: Global scaling without the complications

Looking at where Hypefy started versus where they are now, the change is more than evident. They went from manual admin and risky payment processing to simplified operations in 28 new markets, with reduced admin time by 300%.

From my perspective, this kind of ops transformation isn’t just tied to efficiency. It’s actually about giving companies the freedom to expand into new markets without any of the difficulties that typically go on in the background of the process. In Hypefy’s case, this meant running their campaigns, exploring new global markets, and keeping both their clients and teams happy.

One specific moment that stood out to us was when Phillips requested a campaign launch in Kazakhstan - a market that was very unfamiliar to Hypefy. But together with Native Teams, everything from payments to the legal part was handled with speed and care, meaning they could deliver not just a compliant but also a high-quality job on time. Or, as their Co-Founder, Filip, put it:

“Native Teams made it possible for us to deliver a campaign in Kazakhstan without missing a beat. That kind of support not only strengthened our relationship with major global clients but also opened many doors to new opportunities”.

Beyond day-to-day operations, this transformation also helped Hypefy drastically cut back on its finance headcount, with a single expert managing all of this across dozens of countries. That said, Gig Pay was a huge win, especially for a fast-growing startup like Hypefy.

Native Teams as Hypefy’s partner for growth

Hypefy isn’t stopping anytime soon. Their plan is to push further outside Europe, together with Native Teams as their first-line partner for operational and legal support. When I asked Filip about their experience so far, his answer was very simple:

“I recommend Native Teams without hesitation. The platform simply empowers gig-driven companies like ours to explore beyond their market without the roadblocks of global expansion.”

From my point of view, Hypefy’s story really shines a light on what it takes to scale a remote-first business today. Having a solid product or landing huge clients is not enough without a foundation that can carry the weight of global expansion.

A good expansion partner will closely examine your most painful operational challenges and design a solution that fits your business model and growth goals. By doing so, agencies like Hypefy can scale faster, conquer new markets, and keep their teams happy and satisfied.
