Who is Kristina Mitrevska?

Hi! 🙂 I’m Kristina, a very intuitive, curious and social person. I love summer, travelling and coffee. Also, I looove animals! I have two cats that I play with during my lunch breaks and make my day more fun. I’m from Macedonia and currently working as a Product Manager at Native Teams.

You’re working as a product manager for Native Teams. What do your daily tasks include?

Well, I do a lot of things during the day 🙂  As a Product Manager, I’m responsible for managing the product throughout the product life cycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with the team, to deliver winning products that meet the needs and wants of our users.

How did your career evolve? What’s your educational background?

I studied Business Administration Management. When I finished my masters I started working as a University Professor Assistant for a few years. At that time, I was also working remotely as a Social Media content creator. During my academic career, I started my PhD studies and this is my last year..yeyyy! 😀

This year I started working at Native Teams. At first, I was doing a bit of marketing, as a social media content creator, copywriter and a little bit of product management too. Now I’m working as a Product Manager with the best team ever. 🙂

What makes Native Teams so unique?

The community we built, I would say. People from different parts of the world working remotely together every day. We are all like a big family that cares for each other. <3

What made you transition from office to working remotely and what’s your favourite thing about remote work?

Well, I always wanted to work remotely. Before the pandemic I did a lot of traveling but working from the office made that harder to plan. Working remotely gives me the freedom to work from anywhere in the world and that makes me really happy.

And the part that’s not your favourite?

Sometimes working from home in my pyjamas can make me very lazy. 😀 For an extrovert, social life is missing when working remotely but when I want to spend time with people and be out, I go to work from our office and work with my colleagues.

What makes you the happiest?

That’s a good question. 🙂 I would say many things that can make me happy.

Some time ago, I read this quote: “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” and I think that describes me a lot.
I try to enjoy every moment spent with my loved ones, family and friends, and that makes me a really happy person.

But… I must say that in summer I’m the happiest haha, if you visit me in summer you will see what I’m talking about. I live near a lake and most of the summer days you can find me on the beach, enjoying the day and being the last one remaining there waiting for the sunset. Some days I also take my laptop and work from there too.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in your life?

A few weeks ago I did a paragliding tour which for me was one of the best experiences so far and maybe craziest lately. Also, I did some surfing classes when I was in Bali, but… The fun fact is that I’m not a very good swimmer so that was a bit crazy and scary too.

What would you recommend to someone who wants to start working remotely?

Don’t think twice. Act now. You won’t regret it.  But… one thing that I will recommend is to treat remote work as much like a normal job as possible. Get up, get dressed, and go to a dedicated space in your home solely for work. I do this and that makes me be more productive.
