This summary sets out the key points of how we use cookies and similar technologies. The full detail is in the sections that follow.
- We use only the cookies we need without asking. Strictly necessary cookies keep our website and Platform working and secure, and they cannot be switched off.
- Everything else is your choice. We use analytics, functional and marketing cookies only if you agree to them, and you can change your mind at any time.
- Your choices are easy to manage. You can accept, reject or customise cookies through our cookie banner and cookie settings, which are always available on our website.
- We do not sell your information. Information collected through cookies is used as described in this Policy and our Privacy Policy.
About this Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Native Teams uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at nativeteams.com, in the Native Teams Platform, in our mobile applications and in our emails. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have.
This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we collect and use personal information and the rights you have. In this Policy, "Native Teams", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Native Teams Limited and, where relevant, the other companies in the Native Teams group.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, phone or other device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device, remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and whether you are logged in, and understand how the website is used.
Cookies set by the website you are visiting are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by other organisations, for example providers of analytics or advertising services, are called third-party cookies. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser, and these are called session cookies. Others remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them, and these are called persistent cookies.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way to cookies. These include the following:
- Pixels and tags, which are small pieces of code on a web page or in an email that tell us whether a page has been visited or an email has been opened;
- Local storage, which allows a website or application to store information on your device, for example to keep the Platform running smoothly;
- Software development kits, which are pieces of code in our mobile applications that provide functions such as crash reporting, performance measurement and analytics.
In this Policy, we refer to all of these technologies as "cookies".
Who is responsible for cookies
Native Teams is responsible for the cookies that we place on our website, in the Platform and in our mobile applications, and for the decisions about how the information they collect is used. Where a third party places cookies through our website, that third party is also responsible for its own use of the information collected, in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Our legal basis for using cookies
The law on cookies, including the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the equivalent laws in the European Union, requires us to obtain your consent before we store or access information on your device, unless the cookie is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested. Where the information collected through cookies is personal information, data protection law also applies.
We therefore rely on the following legal bases. For strictly necessary cookies, we rely on the exemption for cookies that are essential to provide our services, and on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website and Platform. For all other cookies, we rely on your consent, which you give through our cookie banner or cookie settings, and which you can withdraw at any time.
The cookies we use
We group the cookies we use into four categories. The table below explains what each category does and whether we ask for your consent before using it.
Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are required to provide a service that you have asked for. For example, they allow you to log in to the Platform and stay logged in as you move between pages, keep your session secure, prevent fraudulent sign-in attempts, remember the items you have entered in a form, route your requests to the right server so that the website loads quickly and reliably, and record the cookie choices you have made so that we can respect them. Because these cookies are essential, the law allows us to use them without your consent, and they cannot be switched off in our cookie settings.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies make your experience more convenient and personal. They allow us to remember your preferred language, region or currency, show content that is relevant to the country you are interested in, provide live chat so that you can speak to our team, and display embedded content, such as videos and interactive tools, from other providers. If you do not allow these cookies, the core website will still work, but some features may be unavailable or you may need to re-enter your preferences each time you visit.
Analytics and performance cookies
Analytics and performance cookies help us understand how our website and Platform are used, so that we can make them better. They tell us, for example, how many people visit a page, how they found our website, which features are most useful, how long pages take to load, and where visitors encounter errors. We may also use them to test different versions of a page to see which one works best. Wherever possible, we use this information in aggregated form, and we configure our analytics tools to limit the information collected, for example by shortening IP addresses where the tool allows it. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not be able to include your visit in our statistics.
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies help us show you information about Native Teams that is relevant to your interests, both on our website and on other websites and social media platforms. They allow us and our advertising partners to understand which content you have viewed, limit the number of times you see the same advertisement, show you advertisements for our services after you have visited our website, and measure whether our campaigns lead to visits and sign-ups. If you do not allow these cookies, you will still see advertisements online, but they will be less relevant to you, and we will not use your visit to our website to target advertising to you.
A full and up-to-date list of the cookies we use, including the name of each cookie, its provider, its purpose and how long it lasts, is available in the cookie settings on our website. We keep that list under regular review, so that it accurately reflects the cookies in use at any time.
Cookies in the Platform and mobile applications
When you are logged in to the Native Teams Platform, we use cookies and local storage mainly to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember your settings and make sure the Platform works correctly. Most of these are strictly necessary. Where we use any other cookies in the Platform, we ask for your consent in the same way as on our website.
Our mobile applications use software development kits to provide core functions and, where you agree, to help us understand how the applications are used and to diagnose problems. You can manage permissions for our mobile applications through the settings on your device and, where available, through the settings in the application.
Cookies in our emails
Some of our marketing emails contain pixels that tell us whether an email has been opened and whether links in it have been clicked. This helps us understand which content is useful to our readers and improve our communications. You can prevent this by changing your email settings to block images by default, or by unsubscribing from our marketing emails. Service emails, such as security notices, are not used to track your behaviour.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies on our website are placed by trusted third parties that provide services to us, such as analytics, customer support, video hosting and advertising services. These third parties may collect information about your use of our website and, in the case of advertising partners, about your activity on other websites.
We work only with third parties that we have assessed, and we place their cookies only in line with your choices. The name of each third-party provider is shown in our cookie settings. For information about how these providers use your information, please refer to their own privacy policies.
How long cookies last
The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on its purpose. We set the lifetime of each cookie to be no longer than is reasonably necessary for that purpose. The table below gives a general overview.
Your choices
You are in control of the cookies we use, other than those that are strictly necessary. When you first visit our website, a cookie banner allows you to accept all cookies, reject all cookies other than those that are strictly necessary, or choose which categories you would like to allow. Rejecting cookies is as easy as accepting them.
How to manage your cookie choices
- Cookie settings on our website. You can change your choices at any time by selecting the cookie settings link at the bottom of any page on our website. Your new choices apply from that point onwards.
- Your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block and delete cookies. Please note that if you block all cookies, including strictly necessary cookies, some parts of our website and the Platform will not work.
- Your device settings. You can manage tracking and advertising permissions for mobile applications through the privacy settings on your device.
- Industry opt-out tools. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many advertising companies through industry opt-out tools, such as Your Online Choices in Europe and the United Kingdom.
- Privacy signals. Where the law requires, we respect browser privacy signals, such as the Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of marketing cookies.
Each browser offers its own way of managing cookies, and the instructions are usually available in the help or settings section of the browser. Common browsers, such as Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge, allow you to see which cookies are stored on your device, delete them individually or all at once, and block cookies from particular websites or from third parties in general.
If you withdraw your consent, we will stop using the relevant cookies from that point. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any use of cookies that took place before you withdrew it. Cookies that have already been placed may remain on your device until they expire or you delete them through your browser settings.
How we record and respect your choices
When you make your cookie choices, we store a record of them in a strictly necessary cookie on your device, together with the date on which you made them, so that we can respect your choices on future visits and demonstrate that we have obtained your consent where required. If you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device, we will ask you for your choices again.
We ask you to confirm your choices again from time to time, for example when we make significant changes to the cookies we use or when a reasonable period has passed since you last made your choices. Until you have made a choice, we use only strictly necessary cookies.
What happens if you turn cookies off
Turning off cookies other than those that are strictly necessary will not prevent you from using our website or the Platform. The table below explains what you can expect in each case.
Social media and embedded content
Our website may include links to our social media pages and content embedded from other platforms, such as videos. These platforms may set their own cookies when you interact with their content, and they may be able to link your visit to your account with them if you are logged in. We load such content only in line with your cookie choices where we are able to do so. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of the social media platforms you use to understand how they use your information.
International transfers
Some of the third parties whose cookies we use are located outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, which means that information collected through their cookies may be transferred to other countries. Where this happens, we make sure that appropriate safeguards are in place, as described in the section on international transfers in our Privacy Policy.
How we use the information collected
Information collected through cookies may include your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, the time and duration of your visit, and how you arrived at our website. Where this information relates to you as an identifiable individual, it is personal information, and we handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including the legal bases, retention periods and rights described there. We do not sell information collected through cookies.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults, and we do not knowingly use cookies to collect information from children or to target advertising to them.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time, for example when we introduce new cookies or when the law changes. The date at the top of this Policy shows when it was last updated. If we make significant changes, we will let you know through our website and, where appropriate, ask you to confirm your cookie choices again.
How to contact us
If you have any questions about this Policy or our use of cookies, please contact us by email at legal@nteams.com.
