How our agreements work

About this page
When you work with Native Teams, a small number of documents shape our relationship with you. This page gives you a simple overview of what those documents are, how they fit together and what to expect when you receive them, so that nothing comes as a surprise.
This page explains how our agreements are organised. It does not describe their content, and the documents themselves set out the actual terms. If anything on this page differs from an agreement you have signed with us, your signed agreement always applies.
The starting point: our General terms of use
Everyone who uses the Native Teams website, web app or mobile app does so under our General terms of use. You can read them at any time on our Legal & Compliance Hub. They explain the basics of how the Platform works, what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you in return.
For many of our services, the General terms of use are all you need. You can choose a service, activate it and manage it directly in the Platform, and the information shown to you along the way forms part of your agreement with us.
When we prepare a signed agreement
Some services, and some ways of working together, call for an agreement that is prepared specifically for you. In those cases, we put in place a Master Services Agreement, which we usually refer to as the MSA.
Your MSA reflects the services you use and the countries you work in, which is why we share it with you directly during onboarding rather than publishing it on our website. Once you have signed an MSA, it takes priority over our General terms of use wherever the two cover the same ground.
Our Master Services Agreements
We have a separate MSA for each of our main service areas. This keeps each agreement focused, so that you only sign terms that are relevant to the services you actually use. We currently have an MSA for each of the following service areas:
- Employer of Record, Contractor of Record, Work Payments and Business Intermediary Services;
- Entity management Services;
- Global Payroll Services, also known as Payroll-as-a-Service;
- GigPay Services; and
- Digital Platform Services.
If you work with us across more than one service area, you may have more than one MSA, each covering its own set of services.
What sits alongside your MSA
Your MSA is the foundation of our relationship. Depending on the services you use, it may be accompanied by a few other documents that complete the picture.
Scope of Work. For our Employer of Record, Contractor of Record, Work Payments and Business Intermediary Services, each engagement is described in its own Scope of Work, often called an SOW. The SOW sets out the practical details of that particular engagement. As your team grows, you simply add a new SOW for each new engagement, without needing to sign a new MSA.
Additional Services and Fees Policy. Most of what you need is covered by our standard services. From time to time, however, a situation may call for extra support. The Additional Services and Fees Policy explains what that additional support looks like and how it is charged, so that you know what to expect before you ask for it. It is shared with you as part of your agreement.
Addenda. If we agree anything that is tailored to your business, we record it in an addendum to your MSA. This means that everything we have agreed with you is written down clearly and kept together with your agreement.
Data Processing Agreement. Our Data Processing Agreement sets out how we protect the personal information that we handle on your behalf. It forms part of your agreement with us, and you can read it at any time on our Legal & Compliance Hub.
How everything fits together
A helpful way to think about our documents is as layers. Our General terms of use are the base layer and apply to everyone who uses the Platform. Where you have signed an MSA, it sits on top and sets out the terms of our relationship with you. The documents that accompany your MSA then add the details for each engagement and anything else we have agreed with you.
When two documents deal with the same subject, the more specific agreement you have signed with us takes priority. Whatever the documents say, the people who work through Native Teams are always protected by the laws of the country in which they work.
What to expect when you get started
Getting started with a signed agreement is straightforward. First, we talk with you about what you need, including the services, the countries and the size of your team, and we explain how we can help. Next, we complete the standard verification checks that apply to all of our clients. We then send you your agreement to review and sign electronically, and once everything is in place, we begin onboarding your first engagement.
As your needs change over time, your agreement can grow with you. New engagements are added through new SOWs, and any change to the terms we have agreed is always made in writing, so that you have a clear record of it.
Agreements for the people in your team
The people who join your team through Native Teams have their own agreements, which are separate from yours. Each of those agreements is prepared to suit the type of engagement and the laws of the country where the person works. People who are employed, engaged or paid through our Platform can also read our Terms of Service for Individuals, which explain their position in plain language.
Have a question?
If you would like to know more about how our agreements work, you can ask the assistant on our Legal & Compliance Hub, which answers using our published documents and shows you where each answer comes from. Its answers are for general information only. For questions about your own agreement, please speak to your account manager or contact our legal team at legal@nteams.com.
