Terms of service for individuals

Last updated:

These Terms of Service for Individuals set out the rules that apply when you use the Native Teams Platform in your own name, for example as a freelancer, an independent professional or a remote worker who wants a simpler way to manage income, invoices, tax documentation and compliance records. They are organised around your journey with us, from opening your account to the day you decide to leave, so that you can easily find what applies to you at each stage.

Your journey with Native Teams

  • Before you start. What these Terms cover and what our role is.
  • Getting started. Opening your account and the checks we carry out.
  • Using the Platform. The tools and support available to you.
  • Your plan. How subscriptions, renewals and price changes work.
  • Your balances. How your service balance and account reserve work.
  • If things change. Your right to cancel, and when an account may be paused.
  • Leaving Native Teams. How your account is closed and your money is returned.

Before you start

About these Terms

Please read these Terms carefully before you create an account or subscribe to a plan. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Platform.

In these Terms, "Native Teams", "we", "us" and "our" mean Native Teams Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales, together with its affiliates where they provide part of the services. "You" means the individual who uses the Platform. The "Platform" means the Native Teams website, web application and mobile applications, together with the related administrative support we provide.

These Terms apply together with our General terms of use, which contain the general rules for using the Platform, and our Individual Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle your personal information. If there is any inconsistency, these Terms prevail over the General terms of use in relation to your use of the Platform as an individual. If a business has invited you to the Platform, your relationship with that business is governed by your contract with it, and these Terms govern only your own use of the Platform.

Our role

Native Teams provides a digital platform and related administrative and technological support, designed to help you manage your own professional and financial affairs. You remain in control of your professional activities, your income and your relationships with your clients.

Native Teams does not provide employment, recruitment, staffing or labour intermediation services under these Terms. Using the Platform does not create an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture or agency between you and Native Teams, and you remain responsible for your own business activities, income and contracts with third parties.

The information, calculations, tools and guides available on the Platform and in our Help Centre are designed to help you, but they are general information and not legal, tax or financial advice for your particular situation. The rules they describe may also change over time. If you need advice, we recommend that you speak to a qualified adviser.

Getting started

Opening your account

To use the Platform, you create an account and provide accurate, complete and current information. When you open an account, you confirm that you are at least eighteen years old, or have reached the age of legal majority in your country, that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, and that you will comply with the tax, social security and data protection obligations that arise from your activities.

Checks we carry out

Before we activate your account, and at any time while you use the Platform, we and our regulated partners are required to verify your identity and carry out checks relating to anti-money laundering, sanctions and fraud prevention. You agree to provide the information and documents we reasonably request for this purpose. If these checks cannot be completed, we may decline to activate your account or restrict how it can be used.

Keeping your account secure

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential, for using the security features we make available, such as multi-factor authentication, and for all activity on your account. If you think your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately, so that we can help you protect it.

Using the Platform

Depending on the plan you choose, the Platform brings together the tools and support you need to manage your work in one place. The features included in each plan are described on our pricing page and in the Platform at the time you subscribe.

Managing your income and taxes. You can keep track of the income you receive and the deductions that apply to it, calculate amounts such as taxes and statutory contributions based on the information you provide and the rules that apply in your country, and prepare and store the documents and records you need for your tax and compliance obligations.

Invoicing and getting paid. Where your plan includes these tools, you can create professional invoices, send payment requests to your clients and keep track of the payments you receive.

Payment services. Where your plan includes them, payment features are provided by our regulated payment partners under their own terms, which are presented to you in the Platform.

Benefits. Where they are available in your country and included in your plan, you can access benefits such as health insurance and pension arrangements. Benefits are provided by third-party providers under their own terms.

Expenses and documents. You can record expenses, store receipts and keep your important documents organised and secure.

Guidance and support. Our Help Centre contains guides on using the Platform and on rules that may affect your work, and our support team is available when you need help.

Your plan

You can choose a plan in the Platform. Before you subscribe, we will show you the price, the billing frequency, the features included and any other charges that apply. Your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel it, and we will remind you before a renewal takes place. You can upgrade your plan at any time in the Platform, and the upgrade takes effect immediately.

We may change our prices from time to time. If we increase the price of your plan, we will tell you at least thirty days in advance, and you may cancel your plan before the new price takes effect.

Your balances

Your account has two balances, which work together to keep your account running smoothly and to make sure that everything is settled fairly when you leave. The funds in both balances belong to you until they are used for a purpose you have authorised or that is permitted under these Terms.

Your service balance

Your service balance is a pre-funded balance from which your plan fees, and any other payments you authorise or that are due under these Terms, are paid. You can top it up using the methods available in the Platform, and we ask you to keep enough funds in it to cover your upcoming fees, so that your account continues without interruption.

Your account reserve

Your account reserve is an amount that you keep set aside for as long as you use the Platform. It gives both you and us confidence that any final charges or adjustments can be settled smoothly when your account is closed. We will tell you the amount of your account reserve before your account is activated, and we will let you know if it ever needs to be topped up.

Transparency

Every transaction on your account is recorded and shown in the Platform, so that you can always see how your funds have been used. You can request an electronic statement at any time.

Your responsibilities

You remain solely responsible for paying all taxes, social security contributions and other obligations that arise from your income and professional activities, even where the Platform helps you calculate them or make payments. You are also responsible for keeping the information you provide accurate and up to date, because the calculations and documents produced by the Platform depend on it.

You must use the Platform lawfully and in accordance with these Terms and our General terms of use. In particular, you must not use the Platform for fraudulent or illegal activity, provide false information, or allow anyone else to use your account.

If things change

Your right to cancel

Changing your mind

  • If you are a consumer, you may cancel your plan within fourteen days of subscribing, without giving a reason, and receive a refund. If you asked us to start providing services during that period, we may deduct an amount proportionate to the services provided before you cancelled.
  • You can cancel your plan at any time in the Platform, as easily as you subscribed, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

When an account may be paused

We may pause or restrict your account if your service balance or account reserve falls below the required amount, if you breach these Terms, or if we reasonably suspect fraudulent, unlawful or improper activity. Where it is lawful and practical to do so, we will tell you in advance, explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue. We will restore your access as soon as the issue has been resolved.

Leaving Native Teams

You can close your account at any time by notifying us in writing or through the Platform. We aim to make leaving as simple as joining.

What happens when you close your account

  • We settle your account. We settle any outstanding fees or costs.
  • We return your money. Within thirty calendar days of final settlement, we return any unused part of your service balance and any remaining part of your account reserve.
  • We pay you safely. Refunds are made to the verified bank account or payment method you most recently used.

Amounts already used to pay for services provided, or for transactions you authorised before your account was closed, are not refundable.

Your personal information

When you use the Platform in your own name, Native Teams is responsible for your personal information as a controller. Our Individual Privacy Notice explains how we use and protect your information, and our guide to Your Data Rights explains how you can access, correct or delete it.

Our responsibility to you

We provide the Platform and our support with reasonable care and skill. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for business losses, or for losses caused by incorrect information you provided. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, including the required amount of the account reserve or the applicable fees, to reflect operational, legal or regulatory changes. We will tell you about any change in advance through the Platform or by email. If you do not agree with a change, you may close your account before it takes effect. If you continue to use the Platform after the change takes effect, you will be treated as having accepted it.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact our support team first, as most issues can be resolved quickly. If your issue is not resolved, you can make a formal complaint by email, and we will acknowledge it promptly and aim to respond in full within thirty days.

Contact us

If you have any questions about these Terms, please visit our Help Centre or contact our support team at support@nteams.com or through the Platform. Formal complaints and legal notices can be sent to legal@nteams.com.
