What should an employment contract in Armenia include?

An employment contract in Armenia should include the following essential information:

  • The names and addresses of both the company and the employee.
  • Details of employment and role.
  • Work schedule details such as typical work days and hours per week.
  • The salary or wage rate, payment schedule, and any additional perks.
  • The employer’s interests may be protected by including confidentiality and non-competition provisions in the contract.
  • Any severance compensation, as well as what constitutes cause for termination.

Before either party signs the contract, they should read it thoroughly to ensure they understand the terms and conditions.

What types of employment contracts exist in Armenia?

The most typical types of employment contracts in Armenia are:

1. Employee contract

The different types of employment contracts in Armenia are as follows:

  • Indefinite-term employment contract: The employment relationship under this form of the contract remains in effect until terminated by either party. The employee is afforded greater job security under such a contract, and the company is often obliged to compensate them in the event of termination, either through notice or severance.
  • Fixed-term employment contract: A fixed-term employment contract is an agreement between an employer and an employee in which the employee is hired for a set amount of time. A fixed-term contract, or limited-term contract, is an employment arrangement with a specified beginning and ending date. A business has three options after a contract has run its course: renew, expand, or terminate.

2. Temporary employment contract

A temporary employment contract in Armenia is a fixed-term employment contract for a finite period to complete a single, limited assignment. These contracts are meant to fill temporary positions with a set end date. The contract will end immediately if the job is finished or the need for employees is met.

3. Author’s contract

This agreement details the conditions of the work’s publication or distribution and the compensation the author will receive. The name of the work, the extent of the rights being granted, the duration of the contract, the compensation for the author, and the particular obligations of both parties are all required by Armenian law in an author’s contract.

How to hire employees in Armenia?

Employers in Armenia must pay their employees at least the minimum wage and provide them with any other benefits to which they are eligible under Armenian law. A business organization registration in Armenia is required before any employee hiring.

This necessitates going through the appropriate procedures established by the Armenian government in order to register your company and obtain a tax identification number. Alternative methods include using the services of a global recruitment solutions provider.
