Hi Angela! How are you today?

I’m doing great, thanks for asking! Currently enjoying my morning coffee as I work remotely from Romania and feeling excited and ready to dive into our conversation.

How would you describe yourself in three sentences?

I’m passionate about the things that bring joy in my life—books, travel, new experiences, and all the little things that make each day feel special. I try to stay humble and grounded, always open to learn, grow and appreciate the people around me. Above all, I’m deeply dedicated to my small circle of family and friends, always prioritising those who matter most to me.

You've recently taken on a Senior Content Writer role at Native Teams. Could you share a bit about your journey here and what drew you to join the company?

I first learned about Native Teams through LinkedIn when I saw the content writer position open. As any true content writer would, I did my research and was immediately drawn to the company’s mission, and I knew it was a perfect fit for me. I started with blog writing and, within a short time, transitioned to the product side, where I’ve been able to grow and develop my role even further. It's been an exciting journey, and I’m proud to be part of this team now.

What’s been the most memorable project you've worked on during your time here?

I can’t single out just one project; each piece I’ve written has a part of my heart in it. Whether it’s a blog post, a page, or something more detailed, I put my passion into every word. They all reflect different aspects of my growth and passion for what we do at Native Teams, and I’m proud of each one in its own way.

With over two years at Native Teams, what’s a lesson you've learned that has shaped how you approach content creation?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the importance of empathy. To truly connect with an audience, you need to understand their needs, frustrations, and goals. That shift in perspective has helped me create content that isn’t just informative but also relevant and helpful.

Could you describe what a typical day in your role looks like?

First things first: coffee! Once I’ve got that, I take a few minutes to go through all my tasks for the day and week ahead. I like to plan out my priorities so that I can stay on top of everything. Once that’s set, I turn on my focus mode. The rest of the day is usually a mix of collaboration with teams, brainstorming ideas, and working with our content to make sure it hits the mark!

How do you find inspiration to turn a blank page into meaningful content?

When I sit down to write, I start by reflecting on the core message I want to share and who I’m writing for. Breaking the task into smaller steps and allowing myself to write freely without worrying about perfection often leads to new ideas. Once the words start flowing, I build from there, knowing that the first draft doesn’t have to be perfect, just authentic and genuine. The key is to trust the process and know that the best ideas often come through as I write and refine them.

What’s a piece of advice for balancing creativity with structure and deadlines in content writing?

The key is to find a rhythm that works for you. Start by giving yourself the freedom to brainstorm and explore creative ideas without worrying too much about structure—let the ideas flow. Once you have those, create an outline or structure that helps you organise your thoughts and stay on track. Breaking the task into smaller, manageable steps can also keep you focused and make deadlines less overwhelming.  And sometimes, the best ideas come when you allow yourself to step back and take a break.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career in content writing?

My advice would be to start writing as much as possible, even if it’s just for yourself. Build a portfolio by creating content on topics you're passionate about and experimenting with different styles and formats. Don’t be afraid to experiment and make mistakes; writing is a skill that improves with practice. If you’re staring at a blank page, try writing anything at all. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but getting words down is the first step. Learning from other writers can help you find your own voice and improve your skills. Most importantly, be patient with yourself as you grow; content writing is a journey, and the more you write, the better you’ll get.

If you could write about anything, anywhere in the world, where would you go, and what would the story be about?

If I could write anywhere, I’d go to a remote spot in Norway or Iceland to experience the aurora borealis. The Northern Lights are one of nature’s most mesmerising spectacles, and I’d love to tell the story of people who live in these remote, magical places. I’d capture the stories of the locals, their connection to the land, the folklore surrounding the lights, and how they navigate their lives.

Outside of writing, where can we find you? What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

While I’m not exactly an Indiana Jones type 😀, I absolutely love reading and travelling. I’m passionate about photography, capturing the beauty of new places and moments along the way. But nothing beats spending quality time in kafana with family and friends.

If you had to choose a different career purely for fun, what would you be?

If I had to choose a different career purely for fun, I’d be a travel photographer, exploring the world, experiencing new places, and trying different cuisines, all while documenting the incredible moments along the way.

Finally, if you could give advice on one piece of life to your younger self, what would it be?

I’d tell my younger self to trust the journey and not rush through life. It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure to have everything figured out, but the most valuable lessons often come from unexpected moments. Embrace the ups and downs, and know that every experience, even the challenging ones, shapes who you’re becoming. Enjoy the process, and don’t be afraid to take risks or make mistakes, they’ll help you grow.
